Credit card errors

  • Errors can occur for many reasons. Some common things to check include:
  1. If your card is new or recently reissued, be sure it’s been activated.

  2. Double-check your entries for card type (for example, Visa), account number and expiration date. 

  3. Remove dashes or spaces from the account number.
  • If everything seems correct, call the customer service number shown on the back of your card. Your credit card company may need to speak with you before they authorize your purchase.
  • Confirm that the billing address on your order matches the information on your credit card account. If you have recently moved or are unsure about the billing address, call the customer service number shown on the back of your card.
  • The daily spending limits on most debit and check cards may delay order processing, even if there is enough money in an account. If you are having problems with a debit or check card, contact your card-issuing bank for information about daily spending limits.

Credit card security code (CVV)

  • To help protect against the unauthorized use of your credit card by other persons, purchases at the Steelcase Store require your credit card’s security code.
  • The security code is an individual three- or four-digit number specific to your card. It may be printed on the face of your card above the embossed account number or on the back of your card on the signature panel.

Credits to your account

  • Credits usually take 7-10 business days from the time we receive your item(s).

Payment options

  • Steelcase Store accepts Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit, debit, or check cards associated with a billing address within the United States and most United States territories.
  • When you provide Steelcase with your card information, Steelcase obtains a pre-approval from the card company for the amount of the order, which may result in a corresponding block on your available credit while the pre-approval remains in place.
  • Debit cards and check cards have daily spending limits that may substantially delay order processing.
  • Steelcase will not bill your credit card or process a transaction under your debit or check card until your order ships. If your order contains multiple items and they ship at different times, you may see multiple charges on your credit card statement 

PayPal payments

  • Paying with PayPal keeps all your financial information stored in your PayPal account. It is not shared with the Steelcase Store.
  • If you pay with PayPal, at checkout, you will be asked to:
  1. Log into your PayPal account.
  2. Confirm the information on the PayPal web page.
  3. Confirm your payment. You will then be automatically directed back to the Steelcase Store to review your order.

  • For questions about charges, click the “My Account” link, located at the top right corner of any page on our site.
  • Review your orders, and compare your order history on our website with your financial records.

Receipt copy

  • To get a copy of your transaction, click the “My Account” link, located at the top right corner of any page on our site.
  • Click on your order.
  • Click the printable invoice link to print the invoice
