    Comments about Details Walkstation:

    I work in a call center and when my company purchased this I was first in line to sign up. Nobody ever used it but me so I just started walking my whole 10 hour shift. Now, 6 months later I am down 70 LBS! Im in better shape than I was when I did martial arts and thats saying alot. I am now also going to the gym and have longsince cut out fast food and sodas for fruit and water. It doesnt even feel like im on a diet anymore it just feels normal. This thing has changed my life and I have inspired others in my workplace to sign up. Now if only they would get more than one so it doesnt displace me off the thing lol!

      Awesome and life-changing. The only thing that would make this cooler is an incline feature. Also, it would be nice to have a cumulative odometer instead of having it reset when the machine is powered off.

      Thanks, Steelcase!

      The Best Kind of Multitasking

        Comments about Details Walkstation:

        I was greatly pleased to see that the office at my new job had two of these! Been wanting to try one ever since I first saw them on TV a few years ago; now I'm on it every workday (300 calories burned today, which is typical). We have a regular workout room also, but I use this more because I can still get plenty of work done while using it. Typing and using a mouse is easy while walking, and I stand close enough to the platform so that the full weight of my arms is supported; otherwise, it would probably put an undue strain on my arms or back (same as a regular desk). My only complaint is that walking makes it a bit challenging to manage certain fine-motor tasks. Example: While walking, clicking a specific cell in a spreadsheet is easy. Clicking the exact corner of the cell and dragging to apply its formula over multiple cells often takes a couple of tries to hit the corner exactly. Typing is no problem. Drawing, or writing in longhand? Forget it--save that for your regular desk.
        Overall, this thing is excellent. You can still do all your thinking, typing, and talking on the phone (yes, it's that quiet) while burning calories. Why wouldn't you use it?

            Our workstation was added to our office almost a month ago. Immediately, I started using it. I started first with 30 minutes a day in the afternoon and now I am up to 60 minutes. I love it! It gives me a break from my desk and the minimum time I need 5 days per week to stay active. So far, I have shed 5 lbs. When you just can't find the time to exercise away from the office, then this is a great solution -- not to mention bonus to employers for their employees!

                I've had my Sit to Walk Station for a couple of weeks now, and am averaging 5 miles a day, some days more, some days less, depending on my meeting schedule. So, at this rate, I'll be walking at least a marathon's distance each week!

                I can easily talk on the phone with my headset, and type and read my computer. The only activity that is difficult is handwriting.

                My office mates walk by my office and pantomime walking on the treadmill, but it is more envy than ridicule!

                Service and delivery comments:

                THe delivery was on time, and the walkstation was in good shape when it got here. The white glove installers did a great job, and removed all the packing materials when they left.

                  I walk 4 - 10 miles a day, when I used to be sitting. It's great to end the day and know that i have accomplished so much exercise! I find it easy to work on my laptop and make phone calls while walking.
                  I also love the customizability of the Walkstation. It's easy to set it up and get the right size and accessories for my office space.

I have also found that it helps me focus and concentrate on what I am doing. I have been using our Walkstation for two hours a day and it has really helped increase my energy level. It makes working fun!!!

                        When Exiting the Walkstation Area:
                        • Do not allow Walking Platform belt to remain running while
                        workstation is unoccupied.
                        • Stop the Walking Platform by pushing the STOP button on control panel;
                        • Wait for the belt to stop moving;
                        • Remove Magnetic Safety Clip from your clothing and exit the workstation.

                        The treadmill mounts under the right- or left-side of the table. This is something that you can specify during the installation.

                        Yes, it can be reconfigured later on.

I downloaded the instructions from your website and seems pretty straight forward but I'm wondering if there is an on/off button, because I cannot see anyone and I wonder if this should be continuously plugged in.

                        It does have an on/off button, the switch is located at bottom right corner above the power cord. However, the Walkstation can remain plugged in and you can operate it by using the Start and Stop button in the main console.

                        Treadmill is constructed of quality materials and manufactured to provide many years of faithful service. Simple routine cleaning and a preventive maintenance program will extend the life of it.

                        For average use of your treadmill, we recommend you lubricate under the Treadbelt once per year. For heavy use, which is more than 10 hours per week, we recommend that you lubricate every six months.

                        Note: Steelcase recommends using only Details-provided liquid silicone lubricant, part number 005723DSR, available from your local Steelcase dealer.
