      Comments about Steelcase Uno Chair:

This chair is the best fit for the office space. Chair is comfortable and supportive. Very sturdy and moves with body movement. The size of the back support is just right. Material is a wonderful color for the room and the material is comfortable and the arms are supportive and do not need to be adjusted. Chair should last a long time.

      Comments about Steelcase Uno Chair:

I own three Uno chairs. I love the design, especially for a home-office situation where the chair is visible from other areas of the house. However, I did have some problems with the Uno chair that we use most often as a computer chair. The Steelcase warranty was great, and the chair was repaired for free. (In our case, the entire metal frame gave out, and needed to be replaced.) You just need to decide if the Uno chair is right for your needs: 1) not a full, eight-hour workday to be spent sitting; 2) body weight much less than 200 pounds. I would recommend that you heed Steelcase's "four hour" recommendation for use, especially if you happen to be a piece of cheesecake away from the 200-pound limit. For light use, or regular use by a light person, the Uno is a great chair, very comfortable.

          Comments about Steelcase Uno Chair:

I literally am motivated to go to the office because of these Uno Turnstone chairs that my collaborative workspace has. I was so enamored with them and their lumbar support (I was getting lower back pain from a lot of coding) that I had to buy one for my home office. And now, I've never been so productive

                Comments about Steelcase Uno Chair:

I sat in the the Uno for the first time at my school and it was the most comfortable chair I ever sat in. I looked up the chair online and bought one soon after. It conforms to my back perfectly and the spring mechanism really makes it like a combination of sitting in a hammok and floating.

                Comments about Steelcase Uno Chair:

I use one of these chairs at work. I like it so much I had to buy one for my home office as well. The hammock motion allows for enough body movement to keep one from getting stiff whilst sitting for long periods of time. After using a hammock chair, I would find it difficult to go back to using a static chair.

The only real con is the thinness of the seat cushion. If the chair pad were a bit thicker, I would be happy to work all day.

I would like to mention that we also use dozens of the hard plastic cousin to this chair [the Cachet model] at work. They get very heavy use and, after 5+ years, show no evidence of wear. These two chair styles have made me a fan of the Steelcase hammock design.

                Comments about Steelcase Uno Chair:

This is a really comfortable chair as long as you're not a bigger person because the arms don't adjust and the metal could press against your legs. I fit fine in the seat and find it very comfortable. It doesn't have a lot of adjustments, which is why I only gave it 4 stars but honestly it is very comfortable without them. As a side note, some of these other comments sound like they were written by Steelcase.

Uno seating products have been tested to increased loads and forces that complies with the ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 Standard. This testing ensures that the Jack seating products will support users weighing up to 253 lbs with no loss of performance.

Width between arms is 18 1⁄2"

Hello, this is a great question and I think it ultimately comes down to preference. However, the stool-height chairs also allow the benefit for working at raised desks, often great for architecture or model shop applications or anywhere that the worksurface is higher than average desk height.
