Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
I have used a bunch of high-end chairs like the Herman Miller Aeron... The Leap is by far the best one my butt has ever sat in. I even purchased a 2nd one for my business partner since I felt so bad that they weren't experiencing this comfort. I've had mine for over 6 months now and write code for 12+ hours per day. I really can't recommend this chair enough. Try it, you will probably love it.
I used to end up in my Lazy Boy recliner with the laptop after a few hours of sitting at the desk, now the recliner barely gets any use.
I don't have any cons. The price was right, shipping was fast, and the design is beautiful.

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
Design is nice. Lumbar support provides limited support. Seat padding is too thin; can feel the plastic through the seat. A tilting seat might make this chair more usable.

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
I searched high and low for a really good office chair as I work at home. I studied chairs on websites and read reviews, etc. I took this very seriously as I have back pain and sciatica, and knew I needed the right chair so I could continue working and be comfortable. I'm at my desk 8 hours a day and sometimes 50 hours a week, so a decent chair was a must.
I realized that my base office had been using Steelcase chairs for years ... just about a decade in fact, and those chairs in the main office had tons of use - multiple body shapes in them, multiple adjustments and sometimes used for 18 hours straight for 10+ years with never a repair and never a problem. I decided that Steelcase had a super track record with durability and quality. I then perused all the chairs and was torn between the Leap, Think and Amia. So I ended up driving 1 hour from home to the Steelcase Store in my state to "test drive" the chairs in person. I didn't want to order a chair that I wasn't fully sure about. I finally decided on the Leap chair and placed my order. It was so hard to wait for that chair ... I wanted it yesterday! (LOL) When it arrived at home, I was so excited to see it all assembled. I only had to wheel it into the office and start adjusting it to fit me.
I've been using the Leap chair for 3 years now and I love it! It's the best chair I've ever sat in and it's definitely a keeper. I dread it when I have to go "in-house" to the main office to meetings as there are never comfortable chairs there in the meeting rooms. Coming back to my home office and settling into the Leap chair is such a relief.
I put it through it's paces last year with 50-hours a week of work for 9 months straight and that chair has not let me down. I got through it all in comfort and peace of mind, knowing that my back wouldn't hurt despite the long hours at my desk. My husband protested a bit intially at the price but when he calculated the cost of my being out of work, doctor's visits and tests, etc for the sciatica flares, he realized the chair was indeed a bargain!
I highly recommend this chair to anyone who has back problems or leg problems. It's super easy to adjust and I'll never be without it. Even if I ever do retire, that chair won't!
Thanks for making such a phenomenal product that's well thought out, easy to use, stylish and oh so comfortable. If I ever need to replace this chair, and I'm hoping I won't, I'll definitely be back for another one - it's that good!

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
Custom ordered my Leap with all the extra tall guy options and a nice fabric that while seemingly different at the time has matched every room it's ever been in beautifully.
I used to run through the $150 office superstore chairs about once every 12-15 months, buying new ones as they never last long (home office environment, heavy use).
Within one week of getting my Leap, the nagging back pain went bye-bye. Took a while to find all the right settings perfect for me, love all the flexibility.
Now my Leap needs a little TLC. Learned the parts are still under warranty and the dealer is coming to my home office to replace the worn out part. The fabric is still in excellent shape, I've no doubt the chair can last another 11 years.
While a costly initial investment, I've saved money and back pain by selecting the Leap. To learn it will be restored to it's original charm at no expense or effort from me is what I term quality customer service.

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
When I was 13yo I had a spinal fusion that left me with 16" rods screwed to my spine, and a VERY un-flexible back. Now I work full time and sit in a chair all day long and started struggling with any chair around the office. Thankfully I work with someone who specs our chairs and is very helpful with ergonomics! She suggested the Leap chair and I fell in love. This thing actually forms to my back and the longer I sit in it, the more it heals my back pain. I've had it at work for a year now and just bought one for home too. No other chair supports and helps my back like this one!

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
I purchased my first Steelcase chair 24 years ago after back surgery and it was a welcome relief, but after a second surgery and continuing back problems, it was time to take advantage of the latest design technology and improved ergonomics. I went right to the top with the Leap chair and after three weeks use, I can only say that I am glad that I did. It is extremely comfortable and I am again able to work near full time with less back pain. Thank You Steelcase!!
Service and delivery comments:
I was so anxious to receive my chair I almost opted for a quick-ship, but instead choose my fabric color, hard floor casters and the platinum base knowing this chair will be around for a long time (based on past experience with Steelcase seating). Despite the holiday crunch, I was amazed it was assembled, shipped and received within one week.

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
Working as a programmer I suffered with back and leg pain for many years. I end up sitting for about 8-10 hours a day, everyday and it takes its toll. I went through quite a few chairs from $100 to $300 to $500 chairs. Either they did't help with my back pain or they fell apart after a year.
Eventually I just decided to make the jump and I couldn't be happier. I went from having back pain and numbness in my leg almost everyday to *never* having the pain and numbness. I cannot overstate the difference it has made for me. I wish I had known 10 years ago an office chair could make such a difference in my quality of life.
My only complaint is that I have the stool version (I have a stand up desk) and the foot rest doesn't stay in place all that well. About twice a week my movement/turning knocks it out of place and I have to put it back up. I am more than willing to live with this though.

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
Overall this is an incredible chair. The only minor downside is that it doesn't quite have that "built like a tank" feel you get from some of Steelcase's other chairs, like the Drive. In particular, the front lip on the chair and the lumbar support feels slightly flimsy. If I were purchasing a large number of chairs for an office environment, I'd probably spend some time evaluating the Leap's durability when compared to the rest of Steelcase's line.
For other use cases though, this is an amazing (and amazingly comfortable) chair.

Comments about Steelcase Leap Chair - Fabric:
My company changed my work location from office to home. For the first few weeks, I tried different chairs in my home. Then my back started hurting. I bought this chair on-line (so I couldn't actually "test" the chair.) After months of ownership, I continue to be amazed at the comfort of this chair and how I can use the chair all day long. While expensive, the chair brings so much value and improved quality to my work life. If you can afford the chair and work from home or spend a lot of time sitting, the investment is absoutely worthwhile.
