Spendy Glorified Hospital Bed Tray Table

Comments about Details Airtouch Height-Adjustable Desk:

Generally, I love Steelcase stuff, but the design of this so-called "desk" seems straight from the set of "E.R.". This desk is really nothing more than a glorified hospital bed table--you know the kind that they put the food trays on when the patient is in bed. While the design is very sleek and minimalist, the price is anything but that--you have to be Gordon Gekko or Bud Fox to afford this thing. I don't know what substance(s) the designers ingested before they drew this one up, but I'm a little perplexed by the invisible drawers they included as I've nowhere to store all my stuff. Just leaves me scratching my head, and I would only recommend this to a friend if I wanted to end the friendship. Having seen (and laughed at) the stand-up treadmill "desk," I'm hoping that Steelcase will soon release a rowing machine version and integrate the oars so that they can be used as both mouse and keyboard so that I can type and surf the web as I row--call it the "Spartacus."

I saw this desk in a friends office. I am a short person sitting behind a large desk and I was very uncomfortable. This items gives me the extra space I need and adjusts to suit my small frame. I can stand when my back aches and not miss a beat. I love it

Comments about Details Airtouch Height-Adjustable Desk:

I use the Airtouch as my computer workstation. I have the heavier model. It is sturdy, and I was easily able to clamp my adjustable monitors to it. I also use it to read and review paper documents. Love standing up to work, I probably stand now 70% of the day. Airtouch really does not have direct competition since it does not need any power source, and it is very well built. Would prefer an option to have a black worksurface since the rest of my office is black, but that is not a major issue. Worksurface is a little more narrow in terms of depth than I might prefer, but not a major issue (would be better for review and markup of paper documents). I am guessing that the cantilever design requires that the tabletop not be too "deep". Overall I am delighted. A little on the pricey side, but again there really is nothing like it and it is a very high quality item. Highly recommended.

Comments about Details Airtouch Height-Adjustable Desk:

I had to wait years to afford this amazing table. It was worth the wait. The ability to work standing up instead of getting up and out of my chair repeatedly throughout a project (to retrieve files or other information) is invaluable. This table has increased my productivity and my good humor. [...]. An excellent investment for my work world.I work for a not-for-profit. We wish we had the budget to afford these tables for anyone in the office who wanted one.
